Smart Recycling Spot

The Smart Recycling Spot (SRS) is an innovative recycling, awareness, and reward program aimed at the citizens of the Attica Region. This program is implemented on behalf of the Special Intergradation Association of the Prefecture of Attica (EDSNA) and its main goal is to increase the separate collection of recyclable materials at the regional level. 
 
It combines innovative technological solutions with social awareness, aiming to motivate citizens to recycle in a way that is both easy and environmentally efficient. Through smart recycling systems and the provision of incentives, the program seeks to create a mindset of sustainable development and responsible waste management across the broader Attica region. 
 
Citizens can visit one of the smart recycling points installed in their municipality and, using the available management console, weigh their recyclable materials on-site and place them in the appropriate bins. For each kilogram of recyclable material, they earn reward points in their account, which they can redeem for offers.

Through the Smart Recycling Spot (SRS) application, citizens: 
1. They create an account. 
2. They identify themselves to the management console by scanning the QR it has. 
3. Locate the nearest smart recycling points in the Municipalities of the Attica Region (with access to an interactive map). 
4. They are informed about a) the types of materials that can be recycled per point (smart recycling spot) b) the percentage of fullness of the bins at each point c) the benefits of recycling for the environment. 
5. They are informed of the available reward points they have accumulated in their account from recycling. 
6. They redeem their reward points with offers available in the program.  
7. They receive notifications from the application about movements in their account, as well as updates from the program.
